Ready, set, go to Second Life on Sunday at 11 am!

July 28th, 2007

At this point, people are begging me to please stop facebookin’ them the “God, sex, family and beats!” flyer, but I am so excited about seeing this thing come together (unravel, spin our brains like tops) tomorrow. I keep getting these mad ideas like what if we live streamed from Real Life to our newsinitiative site so that people from SL see what we’re doing (or people from RL for that matter). It’s a case of us watching them watching us and us all knowing –because we’re all such a web knowledgeable family you know. I want to project the DJ playing onto our newsroom wall so he can see the dancefloor in SL and our avatars dancing. Does that mean we’ll be dancing in RL? Is that the total convergence journalists always dreamed of? Meanwhile, I continue to do my interviews for my features which are due next week (yikes!) and find myself really intrigued by the many stories that Julian Voloj, photographer and writer in SL and RL is sharing with me about religion and identity in Second Life. He directed me to this cool site about a book on avatars and their creators. Very cool and touching in some instances. Ok, so back to the event tomorrow. Some folks have asked if there is a real life event and, YES OF COURSE!

*In Real Life you join us on July 29 from 11 am-3:30 pm (there will be food!) at:
