This is my dad!

He went to 16 years of Catholic school. He is left handed, which didn’t bode well with the nuns who taught him. So his attitudes towards authority figures were uh, profoundly shaped by the clergy. These attitudes were relayed to me, decades later, as conditions for parental disownment. The rules were:

1. Never join the Catholic Order.
2. Never become a cop.
3. Never join the military.
4. Never eat Dorito chips in the house.

Ok, so this post seemingly has nothing to do with my News21 project, except to give you the information that I was raised Roman Catholic. I also am writing this to get practice posting media to the blog. You see, I’m leaving on a two-week trip tomorrow to report about a mystery story that I can’t tell you about yet. My first stop is Baltimore, where I am going to document the first Methodist transexual minister giving mass. Stay tuned.

Meantime – hey doesn’t my dad look great on the internet?

I’m flattered that you thought to put me on the internet. I am equally proud of all the work that you do. I’m sure the Dorito folks are overjoyed about my mandate on their product! Daddy

Pauline! Your dad looks so great on the internet! Nice post…

  4. Michael Says:

I’m guessing that it’s a little deeper than being told not to use the “sinister” hand as a child. Probably something more genetic or hereditary, something that was very obviously passed on to his two very intrepid female offspring.
